I recently had the honor of photographing a beautiful Armenian baptism in the picturesque city of Nice. The ceremony took place at the historic Eglise Saint Philippe, a charming church that added a touch of tradition and grace to the entire event.

Armenian baptisms are known for their rich cultural significance and symbolic rituals. The ceremony typically involves the anointing of the baby with holy oil, symbolizing the child's initiation into the Christian faith. Family and friends gather to witness this sacred event, creating a warm and loving atmosphere that I aimed to capture through my lens.

For the first part of this special day, I chose to present the church photographs in black and white. This decision was motivated by a desire to emphasize the timeless and classic elements of the ceremony. The monochrome tones brought out the emotions and solemnity, highlighting the deep-rooted traditions being celebrated.

The festivities continued into the evening with a lavish dinner at the prestigious Westminster Hotel in Nice. Known for its opulence and vibrant decor, the Westminster provided a stunning backdrop for the joyous occasion. To complement the hotel's vibrant atmosphere, I decided to showcase the dinner images in full color. This choice aimed to capture the lively spirit of the celebration and the joy shared among family and friends.

As a photographer, my goal is not just to document events but to convey the emotions and atmosphere that make each moment unique.
